Andalucia 4X4 Adventure Tour

The sheer magnificence of south eastern Andalucia impressed us beyond measure during our April 2022 reconnaissance trip, and this new tour has rightfully been added to our selected destinations. Located in the foothills of the glorious and beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains, our route delivers every imaginable variant of wilderness terrain, passing through some of Spain's most spectacular natural parks and nature reserves. You will encounter a breadth of diversity amongst the vast and varied fauna and flora, offering delights and spectacles around almost every bend in the tracks, which themselves are countless and truly excellent by anyone's measure. The tracks also differ considerably, from straightforward graded gravel in the lowlands, to some moderately technical sections higher up in the hills. Have a look through the amazing photos from our recce trip, which reflect why to date, Moorish Andalucia is a very strong contender for the best and probably most diverse European region that we have ever explored. Come along and traverse the 'hinterlands' with us, where the riverbeds double as roads. And immerse yourself in Moorish heritage during a free day in Granada. Start - We meet at a campsite near Riopar in the late afternoon preceding Day 1, to enjoy a welcoming BBQ, followed by the briefing.
Finish - At a campsite near Los Gallardos on the morning following Day 10, where after a farewell breakfast we go on our separate ways.
Included - full catering 3 meals per day for the duration of the tour, outdoor adventure activities as detailed in the itinerary, all campsite fees from start to finish, including the campsite preceding Day 1.
Prices - per person based on 2 adults @ £1,395pp, additional adult @ 50%, single supplement @ 50%, child U16 @ 50%.
Highlights - Mother Nature is the star by far on this outstanding 4X4 adventure tour, which is equally varied and fabulous from start to finish. Featuring fantastic off-road driving conditions, while travelling through beautiful wilderness environments - check out the incredible photos! Navigating along 'live' riverbeds for lengthy stretches between villages is a real pleasure, as are the numerous evenings that we enjoy true 5-star wild camping under the stars, and about as good as it gets anywhere. Clients feast on matured rib-eye steaks, each perfectly braai'ed to individual preferences, and served with pepper sauce, buttery mash and fresh salads. Kindly view our blog post for the tour menu, which we alternate daily between our hearty casserole meals, and our renowned BBQ feasts cooked on a charcoal braai! After a week of the most exhilarating off-road driving through Pine forests, agricultural lowlands, rugged valleys and hills, sprawling plantations of fruit and olives, together with plenty of enjoyable rocky and rutted mountain tracks, plus occasional river crossings and other natural challenges, clients then have a free day in Granada to explore its fascinating Moorish legacy (note tickets for the Alhambra must be bought in advance, though an excellent day can be spent without going inside). Later we head further south east en route to the Mediterranean, where we drive onto a wild beach and park up for a swim or a walk, though not before indulging in some Wild West spaghetti western action in the Tabernas Desert! The natural parks and nature reserves through which our route permissibly passes include the Parque Natural de Los Calares del Mundo y de la Sima, Parque Natural de Despenaperros, Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Parque Natural Sierra de Castril, Parque Natural Sierra de Baza, Parque Natural Sierra de Huetor, Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada, Disierto de Tabernas, and the Parque Regional de Sierra Espuna. This new Andalucia 4X4 Tour is ideal for intrepid off-road travellers who prefer nature in the raw, with plenty of exciting adventure and camping out wild. And for those who appreciate good food! Our BBQ braai's: succulent tenderloin in jus with buttery mash and salad; chicken breasts with fusilli and Arabiata sauce; whole rack of baby back ribs with potato salad and yoghurt sauce; flame grilled 100% beef burgers with fried onion rings and brioche rolls; rib-eye steaks with peppercorn sauce, mash and salad. Our Casserole meals: red Thai curry chicken with jasmine rice; Chilli con carne; spaghetti Bolognese with Parmesan; chicken Katzu curry. Fresh filter coffee follows with dessert.

"Our 7th trip with Barrie, this time to Andalusia, did not disappoint.The tracks and trails through the region took in mountains, olive and almond groves and river beds, we even dipped our toes in the mediterranean sea. The food was, as always, plentiful and tasty. The mountain tracks ensured plenty of amazing views and the wild camps all set in quiet rural settings with stunning sunsets to accompany our communal meals and evening drinks.
